Little Figures

Our imagination has limitless power and it's capable of making up completely for a lack of information. The less is shown, the more is left for imagination, and in my opinion, the more real and vivid picture appears in our mind. Each of these tiny figures took me only a couple of seconds to paint. I just let my favorite brush do its own thing, and it told me just enough to spark my curiosity. It feels so exciting to fill in the details mentally, in ways that I like. Thus, painted figures, each with their own characters and personality, seem to be storytelling. A fun and easy study to do, highly recommended!

Flowers on Fabriano

When I first tried painting on Fabriano Artistico cold pressed watercolor paper, I didn't enjoy it at all and kept sticking with Arches. However, having given Fabriano another try recently, I got added evidence that working with any art materials can be fun. It is simply the matter of finding the right approach to discover their potential. So I'll definitely be coming back to this paper from time to time.

Rainy days melancholy

It's raining again and according to the forecast, there will be more soggy days ahead. The air will stay moist; early morning ribbons of mist will be swirling between mossy trees and creeping over the damp grass. This weekend I'm gonna stay warm indoors, having plenty to occupy myself, like painting, reading or trying new baking recipes. Thinking about how nice it would be to have a cute fluffy cat purring on my knees. And what about your plans? Whatever your weekend will look like - I hope you enjoy it.

Little Pumpkins

Every autumn I stock up on cute little pumpkins and gourds which can fit the palm of my hand. Lasting for several months, they make perfect home decorations, not to mention them being great models for painting:) 12''x9'' on Fabriano watercolor paper.
